I got my first new lenses since sometime... well into last year. Like February of last year. That was when I got my much loved EF-S (sadly) 55-250 with IS which has been dropped and slammed and works harder and better than a teacher's pet.
okay there was that sigma "macro" but it sucks ass with AF and this weird, huuuge artifact every time I zoom in... and it could only focus a foot in front of the lens. wtf macro. It was $20 at a Wolf Camera that was going out of business, so no big deal though.
...but still, man how have I made it this long o-o
anyhow, I got a 50mm 1.4 and a 15mm 2.8 fisheye and both are gawd awesome. I broke them in photographing opera scenes and my ickle fickle niecey who was like, "Auntie why you pointing the camera at me again?" Okay she can't even sit up on her own yet but... if I upload the pictures you'll see it in her eyes :]
I don't know which one I love more. The fisheye is wiiiide, even on a crop body... but the 50mm has the most amazing DOF and low light performance. I nearly came in the Helix Camera store when I tried it out. 1/100 shutter speed... ISO 100... under lights that would normally knock me into the 1/20ish range with my kit lens.
LIKE YOU GUYS CARE, but I just felt like getting all photo-nerd on you. Right, right, pictures...
